What is Match Race?
Match Race is a free browser puzzle game that turns tile matching into a race. A rival car is closing in, and the only way to keep your lead is to match traffic signs on the board fast enough to feed your engine. Bigger clusters of signs hide the easiest matches, so the game rewards scanning for shapes first and colours second. Every race ends in a photo finish, and a well-timed nitro boost can steal the line. Match Race is catalogued as TLG-03 on The Lost Games shelf and plays with a mouse on desktop or touch on mobile.
The recovered build was made in the Defold engine under the working title Traffic Sign Turbo Racer, and it keeps that arcade-cabinet urgency: a countdown, a rival that never stops, and a replay button the moment the race is called. The cassette tips are the strategy guide in four lines: match signs before the rival catches up, scan shapes first and colours second, remember that large sign clusters hide the easy pairs, and fast eyes win the finish line.
Because matching is done by swapping adjacent signs, the game works identically with a mouse click or a finger tap, which is why it was one of the first cassettes to earn the WEB label on the shelf. Space triggers nitro and R restarts a race instantly.

How does Match Race work?
Swap adjacent traffic signs with the mouse or a tap to make matches. Each match feeds your car; the faster you match, the further ahead of the rival you stay. Press Space for a nitro burst and R to restart.
