What is Borrowed Shadow?

Borrowed Shadow is a free browser puzzle platformer built on one idea: every object casts a different possibility. Walk up to a crate, a streetlamp, or a statue, press E, and you borrow its shadow. Place that shadow on a wall and it becomes something you can use, a platform to climb, a patch of darkness to hide in, a shape that lures a creature onto a pressure plate. The city keeps what light forgets, and your goal is to find the white door. Borrowed Shadow is catalogued as TLG-12 on Shelf II of The Lost Games and supports keyboard, touch, and controllers.

The opening district teaches the three moves the whole game is built from. Steal a crate's shadow, place it beneath the floating Moon Seal, climb it, and touch the seal. Steal a streetlamp's shadow, set it in front of the searchlight, and walk through the darkness it makes. Steal the statue's shadow, place it, and lead the creature onto the silver plate by the door. A second district follows with its own skyline, facades, and routes.

Borrowed Shadow has a hand-painted six-frame walk cycle, a looping soundtrack that starts on your first input, and full gamepad support: the game hides the mouse cursor the moment a controller connects and restores it on disconnect. On mobile the arcade provides multi-touch movement plus borrow, place, and restart buttons.
