What is Desktop Demolition?
Desktop Demolition is a free browser simulation that hands you a working replica of a classic Windows XP desktop and a palette of tools to destroy it with. Icons, windows, the Start menu, Minesweeper, Notepad, and a media player all open and behave the way you remember, and then you pick a tool with the number keys and take the desktop apart. It is a sandbox with no score and no fail state, and the joy is in how faithfully everything reacts. Desktop Demolition is catalogued as TLG-11 on The Lost Games shelf and plays on desktop or mobile.
The recovered simulation goes deeper than the destruction. Inside My Documents there is a hidden video library with a working XP-style player, the Start menu lists real programs, and view options, icon arrangement, and the Run dialog all function. Right-clicking recalls the tool palette whenever you have wandered off into the fake operating system.
The cassette label's tips are the whole manual: mouse moves the pointer, click uses the selected tool, 1 to 9 pick tools, and right-click brings the palette back. Desktop Demolition is filed under Simulation, and on mobile the arcade maps tool selection and clicks to touch.
