What is PicoPet?
PicoPet is a free browser virtual pet, a little life that lives in your tab. It wakes up when you open it, and from then on it is yours to look after through eight buttons around the screen: feeding, cleaning, playing, and the rest of the daily routine that keeps a small creature happy. Click the pet itself to pet it. The number keys 1 to 8 open the same menus from the keyboard, and the arrow keys and Enter choose within them. PicoPet is catalogued as TLG-18 on Shelf II of The Lost Games and plays on desktop or mobile.
PicoPet belongs to the tradition of pocket pets from the late 1990s: a tiny screen, a handful of buttons, and a creature whose mood depends on how attentive you are. Nothing is timed against you and there are no levels; the game is the relationship, checked in on over minutes or days.
