What is Scrap Em' Sock Em?
Scrap Em' Sock Em is a free browser tactics game where you do not steer your robot. You write its program, up to five moves in sequence, then both machines execute at once and physics decides the rest. Every joint is motor-driven, so damage to a limb weakens its servos: it drags, swings short, and eventually tears off. Land the final hit on a core and the bout is over. Between fights you spend scrap in the workshop before the next machine walks into the pit. Scrap Em' Sock Em is catalogued as TLG-16 on Shelf II of The Lost Games and plays on desktop or mobile.
The programming layer is the game. Pick a move with the number keys 1 to 7, place it in one of five slots, and run the sequence with Enter. Backspace undoes, and a cleared slot is a wasted turn, so the tension is in committing to a full program before you see what your opponent has written. The opening challenger is SPARK-9, and the scrap you win funds rebuilds and upgrades.
The robots are physically simulated rather than animated, which is why the same five moves never play out quite the same way twice. It is filed as a Tactics Fighter: a fighting game where thinking replaces reflexes.
