What is Gauntlet Blitz?
Gauntlet Blitz is a free browser arcade game that reimagines Breakout on a cyberpunk rooftop. Instead of a paddle you play a rooftop runner who charges into bricks, bounces off neon waves, parries drones, and slams down from above. Waves escalate until the Rexflare boss battle. The game originally lived on its own website and moved to The Lost Games in July 2026, where it continues as cassette TLG-09. It supports keyboard, touch, and controllers, and the fixed set of controls, charge, parry, slam, rewards learning each enemy pattern rather than button mashing.
Gauntlet Blitz layers a fighting-game vocabulary on top of a brick-breaker. X charges a bounce, B parries incoming drones, and Down plus X slams, so every wave becomes a question of which tool answers which threat. The recovered cassette adds a fifth tip beyond the usual four, a sign of how much there is to learn.
The web build scans all connected gamepads and picks the one producing real input, with Xbox, PlayStation, and generic mappings layered over keyboard and touch. The cassette back uses the smaller WebP artwork, one of the first pieces of case art converted to the format the rest of the shelf is moving toward.
