What is Jungle Rumble?
Jungle Rumble is a free browser fighting game with a roster of eight animal warriors: Brimtusk, Dreadjaw, Frostfang, Ironpaw, Razorstripe, Stormtalon, Vinestrike, and Warhorn. A quick claw and a heavy fang cover your strikes, pressing either one in the air turns it into a flying kick, and holding block lets you punish an opponent's missed attack. A dash cuts through pressure, a four-hit flurry opens a guard, and a combo breaker gets you out of trouble once your meter is full. Jungle Rumble has online play against live opponents and a training mode, and it is catalogued as TLG-14 on The Lost Games shelf.
The controls sit comfortably on a keyboard. A and D or the arrow keys move, Space or W jumps, Z or J throws the light claw, and X or K throws the heavy fang. Hold S, Shift, or Down to block. C dashes, F unleashes the flurry, and B breaks an opponent's combo when your meter allows it. Enter or Esc pauses. Fights take place across seven stages.
Online mode finds you a live opponent from anywhere, and training mode lets you practise on your own. Controllers work too, which is why the cassette carries the controller-supported badge on the shelf. Jungle Rumble sat on the shelf as a Coming Soon teaser before its cassette became playable.
