What is Offset?
Offset is a free browser puzzle game about portals and momentum. You carry a device that opens two linked doorways in the same room, the shunt and the anchor, and whatever goes into one comes out of the other carrying every bit of speed it arrived with. Portals only stick to pale panels, never to dark metal, so reading a room's surfaces is the first step of every solution. Cubes hold pressure plates down, a long fall becomes a long launch, and turning the view reveals floors hidden behind walls. Offset is set in the test chambers of Axiom Labs, is catalogued as TLG-19 on The Lost Games shelf, and supports keyboard, mouse, touch, and controllers.
The controls follow the puzzle's vocabulary. WASD or the arrow keys move and Space jumps. Click opens the shunt and F opens the anchor, and right-click works too. E lifts or drops a cube, Q throws it, R clears your doorways, and Z and C rotate the view when something important is hidden behind a wall. The cassette tips are the four rules of the lab: portals only stick to pale panels, speed is kept through a portal, a cube on a pressure plate holds a door open, and turning the view fixes a blind angle.
On a phone, your left thumb steers with an on-screen pad and tapping the room opens a doorway. The colour alternates, so two taps make a pair, and a swap button reuses one colour. With a controller, the left stick moves and the right stick aims. Offset carries the controller-supported badge on its cassette, and its chambers have their own music tracks.

How do portals work in Offset?
You open two linked doorways, the shunt and the anchor, on pale panels. Anything that enters one leaves the other at the same speed it went in, so falling a long way into a portal launches you a long way out.
How do you play Offset?
Move with WASD or the arrow keys and jump with Space. Click to open the shunt and press F for the anchor. Press E to lift a cube, Q to throw it, R to clear your portals, and Z or C to turn the view.
Is Offset free?
Yes. Offset is free to play in the browser at The Lost Games, with no download or account.
Does Offset support a controller?
